Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) Registration Process Explained

This process is very confusing. Here are the dos & donts.

Register Your Student (You do not need to register as a Parent)

  1. Go here: https://thsba.net/login.html
  2. Register your child as an Angler.
  3. You may want to use your email. This will get confusing when paying for yearly membership.
  4. Click Signup
  5. You will receive an email. You have to verify your email
  6. You will receive an email that your student must sign a waiver.
  7. Sign the waiver from the link “View and Sign”
  8. You will receive confirmation
  9. Log back in as your student, and you will have to pay for a yearly membership. Once paid, you will get a confirmation email. (Note: you may have to do this from the app.)

Register as a Boat Captain

  1. Go here: https://thsba.net/login.html
  2. Register your child as a Boat Captain.

  3. You may want to use an email different from your students’.
  4. Click Signup
  5. You will receive an email. You have to verify your email
  6. You will receive an email that you must sign a waiver.
  7. Sign the waiver from the link “View and Sign”
  8. You will receive confirmation
  9. Go to: https://www.sportsengine.com/
    and create an account.
  10. Take the training course and pay for a background check. 

  11. The course is a long video with a 25 question quiz at the end.
  12. When you pass, you will get a certificate. The certificate will transfer to THSBA automatically.

  13. This was a long process, I did not have to pay for anything as a captain

Tournament Registration

  1. Go here: https://thsba.net/login.html
  2. Log in as an Angler. (Not Captain. Very important. Only Anglers can register for a tournament, captains can not.)
  3. Browse to the tournaments by selecting “Tournaments” from the main nav.
  4. Click View Details
  5. You will need to complete the fields by searching for the anglers’ names and the captain’s name. I assume the primary angler is the captain’s child if the child is fishing.

    Leave Observer blank.

  6. Click Register
  7. The student must pay the registration fee.
  8. You will receive confirmation
